Starting a new blog as I move into an unemployment phase....again.
Only at this old age did I realise that most of us corporate slaves don't work for a company, we just work for our bosses and we try to stay alive among our peers so that we are less likely to be backstabbed or sabo-ed at work.
Every job is just like any other job, except that our bosses are different. Some bosses may be nicer and kinder than others, while some may just be toxic. However, the workplaces that condone toxic bosses are often toxic by nature, and no amount of change proposals or positive thinking can get you out of it.
Business problems are increasingly technical in nature, but why is IT a silo function when it comes to implementation in most companies? Why are business teams prescribing solutions for IT teams? Why does IT team have to calculate ROI for business owners? These are some examples of the bizarre cases that I have encountered in my real life.
This blog will carry my thoughts about business and IT alignment -- something that is critical yet abstract. Through examples and book summaries, I hope to shed some light about how business and IT can play nicely together, and they should.
